Old Time Radio

Halloween is a special time on The Horror, and this year we’ll celebrate with two sets of horror themes.  Every Saturday in the month of  October we’ll hear a haunted house story, and every Wednesday brings you an episode featuring one of the great voices of terror. We’ll hear from Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, Vincent Price, and Peter Lorre!

The Horror! creeped its way onto the internet "airwaves" just over one year ago.  Replaying those great old time radio horror stories from the 1930's to the 1970's, the show has become the most popular on RelicRadio.com, and served as the impetus for this site and the Vintage Horror Radio show.  If you haven't checked it out yet, you're sure to like it!  New shows are released each Wednesday and Saturday.  This Wednesday, June 25, will mark the one hundreth show!

I just realized how long it's been since our last episode of Vintage Horror Radio.  Too long!  Last week was pretty busy for me, so the show had to take a bit of a back seat.  But we're back on track this week, and there will be a new show up today or tomorrow featuring a story from Charles Dickens.

Next week I'll take care of a request from Zack for a radio version of Poe's The Telltale Heart.  I've seen a number of versions of this one, I'll try to pick the best!

Some of the works of H.P. Lovecraft, along with many other authors, were adapted for radio during its golden age.  So far I've been able to find four Lovecraft stories produced for radio, and rest assured I'm on the lookout for more!

Below you'll find links to those four episodes.  Two were featured on The Horror! podcast, and the remaining two are part of the audio section of this site.  They were not included in the podcast because although the audio quality is listenable, it isn't as high as I like for the show.  Similar pieces of audio will be featured here in the future.
