Old Movies
Have You Seen Me?
I got an email from Scott asking about the title of an old horror movie. Can you help track down the title of this one? From the email:
Maybe someone out there can help with the name of an old horror
film. From what I can remember, it was about a Nazi war criminal that was
trying to resurrect Der Fuher by doing experiments with humans. One vivid
torture scene involved putting a rat cage over the head of a well-endowed
woman. Anyone out ther know it? Please post on the Blog site if needed.
Thanks.
Sound familiar to anybody?
The Last Man On Earth
I've just posted The Last Man On Earth on the Reel Relics site. This film was released in 1964 and stars Vincent Price as Dr. Robert Morgan, a man who's left mostly alone after a world-wide plague. Except for the zombie-like vampires that hunt him! Like the Charlton Heston classic (?) The Omega Man, The Last Man On Earth was based on the story I Am Legend by Richard Matheson. Matheson actually helped write the script for this film, though unhappy with the result, he was credited as Logan Swanson.

Watch Classic Horror Films!
I mentioned a horror film offshoot to this site some time ago, but recently decided to incorporate the horror movies into a site with all types of classic movies. Reel Relics is now available for your viewing pleasure, though not quite completely finished. In addition to the films that have been available here, I just added Horror Express starring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing! Just visit the site and click on the Horror link for a listing of available movies.
Cushing
Peter Cushing was in every horror movie ever made in the 60’s and 70’s. Well, maybe not, but I think he was in every movie they used to play on Saturday afternoons when I was growing up. I wish they’d play those great crappy horror movies again somewhere. AMC...how about playing some real classic movies?
Horror Films: Interesting Link
Nancy sent in a link to an interesting article on horror films. It covers films from the very earliest to pretty much the present day. Good read if you enjoy fine cinematic horror!
Thanks Nancy!
New Movie up!
I've just posted a new Featured Movie. This one is The House On Haunted Hill starring Vincent Price. To browse the past featured movies click here.
Vintage Horror Radio's next show should be up over the next day or two!
The Innocents (1961) Movie Review By Matt Cowan
I watched the 1961 movie, the Innocents the other night. I chose it because I had seen it so prominently listed among several peoples all time favorite horror movies lists. It was adapted from a novella by Henry James, The Turn of the Screw (1898). It is very good and holds up well still today. The acting is superb and it is well shot. It is black and white but that did not detract from my enjoyment of it. Although, truth be told, haunted house tales are my favorite kind of story, so I have a weakness there. The screen play was adapted by legendary scribe, Truman Capote.
