Updates
It's time for a redesign! Over the next few days I'll be changing the look here at VintageHorror.com. I haven't liked the white text on black background look for sometime, and though the dark colors might fit the theme, I'll be changing to a white background soon.
I hope to have another episode of Vintage Horror Radio up soon, and plan to make some changes to that podcast as well. This site has been on the back burner for a bit, but soon I'll be spending more time here.
Look for more old time horror radio, more interesting articles on horror's past, and just more in general!
Free Comic Book Day (May 3rd)
Today (May 3rd) is national Free Comic Book Day. Stop in at your local comic book store to pick up some free stuff.
Article Delay.
I know I haven't put up a new article this month, but I do have an excuse. I've been working on a story I want to submit to an anthology. It has a submission deadline of May 1st, and I think I'm going to just squeak in before that time. I will make sure I have a new article up here in early May. Sorry for the delay.
- In case anyone is curious, the upcoming article will be about J. Sheridan Le Fanu.
Vintage Horror Radio Returns Soon!
I apologize for the lack of new Vintage Horror Radio Shows over the past month. I didn't realize it's been that long! These shows take a bit longer to put together than the other shows, and thus have taken a bit of a back seat to all the other podcasts.
I'm working on getting something together for episode 12...Coming Soon! I swear!
More On Holly Leaves Magazine
You may remember me mentioning Holly Leaves Magazine in the last episode of Vintage Horror Radio. That was the magazine that first published the Bram Stoker story The Judge's House, which I couldn't find much info on.
I received an email from Dale who found out a little more background information for us. It seems that Holly Leaves was the seasonal publication of Farm And Country Magazine published in London, England from 1874 to 1964 (possibly later). This of course following the tradition of Christmas time ghost stories Matt wrote about earlier!
Thanks for the info Dale!
More Vintage Horror Radio Coming Soon
It's been far too long since the last episode of Vintage Horror Radio...Sorry! First it was holidays, then I was a bit under the weather, and of course all the other podcasts needed to be done! Excuses, excuses.
Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know I haven't forgotten about this site or the show. The next podcast will feature a story by Algernon Blackwood called Ancient Sorceries. Look for it over the next few days.
Collaborative Christmas Horror Story Read on POH #41
The Collaborative Christmas Horror story that I took part in is read by the host of Pod of Horror, Mark Justice in Pod of Horror #41. It is now up for those interested in hearing it. Mark does a great job reading it and I think it turned out well, particularly when you consider it was written by six different writers. Also in that episode Mark interviews writer Robert McCammon.
